Driving Test Imminent (2)
Driving Test Imminent(2)
(5) Reverse around the corner:- This was pretty good but leave just a little more space between you and the Kerb.Usually the Examiner will say what I said "Keep going until I say stop”. If there is no instruction then you have to make the decision as to where it is safe to stop after you have negotiated the corner. Watch out for not blocking people's entrances and driveways! (6) Road Markings:- Take care with road markings(or the lack of them!) You will be expected to position your car correctly even when there are no road markings(not always easy!) Remember the exit and entrance of the Test Centre...if you are asked to turn right then you need to be very careful with your positioning so that you do not impede the traffic that is coming INTO the Industrial Estate.(well worth practicing a few times going in and out!) (7) Roundabouts:- Practice all the roundabouts from each different direction ...once you have done this a good few times you will be better than most of our drivers and then you can concentrate on the important decision making ...whether to stop or go. Remember approach in second gear EXPECTING to have to stop and then be READY to go immediately if the road is clear. (8)Tyres:- Don't forget your tyres Gerry... Two new tyres onto the front...the current left-hand front to the rear (perhaps) it is steel and not an ALLOY? and the punctured wheel to the rear if the tyre is ok. You have a tyre shop your locality. Make sure that if the punctured tyre needs replacing that all tyres are the same make and size (remember what I said about the Rotational aspect of newer tyres.Your two rear tyres are just coming to the limit which means that the tyres are 80% worn out . From a safety perspective they should be changed and also it is too risky to leave it too chance for the Driving Test.
