Here are some Quick Tips on Turning  Left and Right

Turning Left:-

If the junction is sharp or 90 degrees you must be square on to the stop line or you will clip the curb with your rear left wheel. If, as is the case in newer housing developments (say in the last 30 years) there is a curvature on the curb, then you must be close and parallel with that curb...so you are going to be at an angle as you stop. If you are at Traffic lights with room for two cars side by side, one turning left and one turning right then you must be tight to the curb to facilitate the driver that is turning right. If you take up some of the right turn drivers' space forcing her over the centre white line you will lose a mark (grade 2 fault)

Turning Right:-

In general there is only one position for you when you are turning right and that is just inside the white centre line, completely parallel and just behind the stop or yield line. Remember you must come to a complete stop at a stop sign irrespective of whether the road is clear in both directions AND you MUST wait if some one is approaching from your right hand side and signaling to turn left, until they have COMMITTED themselves to their left turn. If you commence your turn before they commence theirs you will invariably receive a grade three disqualifying fault! Quite often now white stop lines have been moved further back from their previous positions since drivers can't stop correctly! You then are usually unsighted and have to do the "Creep and Peep" until you have sufficient visibility to make your decision to move out.

Hope this helps you.
