Motorway Driving in Ireland.

The Introduction of Motorways in Ireland has dramatically improved the journey time between the major Cities of Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway. This has also benefitted all the Towns along the various routes.

The facility to relatively quickly reach a stretch of Motorway is also an advantage for newly qualified Drivers who can build up their skills at times when traffic is not so heavy.

Outside of Dublin where the M50 Motorway ring road is a miniaturised version of the M25 London Motorway, there are plenty of opportunities for new Drivers to practise without the worry of heavy rush hour Traffic.

There are different skills needed to safely negotiate a stretch of Motorway so we have included several pages here on this site to give you some idea of what you will be up against. We have split the various techniques into separate sections and suggest you study these carefully before you venture out onto a Motorway for the first time.
