I suggest you get the c-drom of the Theory test(or the book ...whichever is more suitable) for your wife  which is available at Easons or all good bookshops. A week or so of study with an hour or two a day should be sufficent for the theory Test pass. While you are getting going on this you should book the theory Test (usually available at about ten days notice) .

If you give me your postal address I will send you all the forms needed for the provisional license to save you messing around in Town.However you can get all the forms at your local Motor Tax office.

If you get all the paperwork ready before the Theory Test then with the Pass Certificate you can go straight to the Motor Tax Office and get the Provisional License on the same day and then make bookings for Lessons.

This is what will be needed to get the Provisional License.

 (1)   Theory Test pass Cert.

 (2)   Provisional License Application Form and fee.

 (3)   Eye Test Certificate from Optician.

 (4)    Birth Cert or Passport (originals)

 (5)    Two Colour Passport photos

The pass mark for the theory Test is 35 out of 40 and it is a multi choice exam done on Computer.There is a Theory Test Office in every major Town.
